Our first book - Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa, How Easy is That?

Mary came up with the idea and Diane jumped on the bandwagon. Our very first cookbook was Ina Garten's book, Barefoot Contessa How Easy Is That?

We set a date, invited some friends, and the plan was set!

Joined by old friends and new, Carmen, Lois, Lynda, Mary, Carol, Gale, Danielle, and  Diane (the photographer) enjoyed an amazing dinner complete with "starters," dinner and delicious desserts.
Stilton & Pecan Crackers and Chipotle & Rosemary Roasted Nuts (not shown)
Salmon Deviled Eggs
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms (didn't last very long)

The centerpiece of dinner was Jeffrey's Roast Chicken that had a lovely garlic/lemon flavor.

Greek Panzanella salad, Wild Rice salad, Snap Peas with Pancetta and Couscous with Toasted Pine Nuts

Delicious!

After dinner we had a chance to talk about the recipes we made  in the cookbook and what we liked and didn't like. We all agreed that Ina was a bit lemon happy and over spiced the food slightly. But, overall, we all liked our first cookbook and enjoyed many of the recipes.

Then for dessert - Easy Cranberry & Apple Cake and Red Velvet Cupcakes - both were a real hit.

Our first Cookbook Club was so much fun and we look forward to meeting again in late January, 2013.

Happy Holidays to everyone. Until next time,

Bon Appetit!
